🎈 How To Make A 1.9 Tdi Faster
I recently purchased a 1.9 TDI Golf MK5 with a suspected engine issue. It is the BXE engine code and when driving at higher speeds in 4/5 gear, after prolonged periods of being on boost, e.g. climbing a long hill, the car starts to initially hesitate and “surges” / “lurches” whilst accelerating.
Agreed on saving for a faster car. I have an 06 1.6 Polo. Besides cosmetics - and removing the air filter restricter, that engine will stay as it is. Ask Echo03 on this forum just how much software and a freflow makes a difference. With regards to the decat - I may remove mine, too. It's like R150 or so at some places.
TDI stands for ‘Turbocharged Direct Injection.’ It’s engineered in a similar way to the TSI engine, using a turbocharger to increase power, which allows the size of the engine to be reduced
So in a light-weight car like the Audi TDI, the torque translates into acceleration, rather than brute pulling force. The new Chevrolet Durmax Diesel is a very fast truck, but at 95mph, the torque cuts out, and the enigne does not have the horsepower to keep the truck at that speed. Just put a chip in.
Location. Northampton. Feb 4, 2014. #32. My Quattro Sport is mapped with the REVO Stage 1, and was done by Northampton Motorsport. Cost me £360 inc VAT. Having had my 1.9GT TDi PD 130 Mk4 Golf mapped with the same map previously, I think I had the A4 mapped 3 days after I had bought it.
At this time of year and these temperatures diesels take a lot longer to warm up. The car will warm up faster if driven under load rather than left at 2K rpm on your driveway wasting fuel needlessly. My Octy2 1.9TDi also takes a long time to warm up in cold weather but my previous Octy1 1.9TDi was exactly the same.
Sounds like you're already asking the wrong question. The 1.9L TDI in a MKII will be quite a bit faster than in the MKIII or MKIV that it came from. Mainly because you're towing at least 500 lbs less. I guess it really depends what you want. A moderately tuned TDI in a MKII (assuming this is what you're looking into) will leave a big hurt in
Find the location of the MAF sensor in your Polo, unplug the electrical connectors, and remove the sensor from the housing. Spray at least 10 spurts of MAF cleaner onto the sensor and then let it air dry for an hour or until completely dry. Do not use cloth or cotton swabs to clean the sensor, as it can damage it.

Stan] Preparation of the engine before increasing the fueling. 1. It is necessary to unscrew the screws #1 and #2 and to withdraw the limit-switch. (you probably have a cover over), You can use tie-rap and fix the switch elsewhere (but it must remain open)
2006 Jetta TDI BRM 1.9 5 Speed. Feb 28, 2020. #16. I have the SAME high idle issue. First time I saw this was with a high electrical load in the winter time (normal). Years later, the RPM's randomly rise to 1050 and fans run even before the engine is up to normal temps and with little to no electrical load.
Oil knows better then I but at least on the old (1.6 na cars) the light on the dash is independent of the actual glow plugs working. I have a lighted washer sprayer hooked to the glow plug system in the rabbits to show when it is on and it never matches the dash light even with new glow plug relays (upgraded from slow to fast glow plug systems).
